The event was held at "Spotlight", located on Broadway between 48th & 49th St. in NYC (apparently this was also a part of a weekly series callled "R&B Spotlight Live"). Until this past Tuesday night, we'd never even known this place existed!
The promotional teams were out deep in front of the spot. (Hey... didn't we just do a story on The-Dream? Looks like he's getting his promotion started early!)
They were definitely working hard on the crowded streets of NYC...
Soon as we stepped inside we bumped into our man Irv Gotti again. Yo Gotti - ain't that the shirt you wore last week at the KING Magazine party? (See our post from Sept. 27th) Guess it doesn't make a difference when you got the Maybach parked outside and millions in the bank.
Have you ever stood next to a billion dollars? Well, as we made our way through the packed crowd and over to the VIP area, we spotted Kevin Liles, the executive vice-president of the Warner Music Group along with BET's founder and Charlotte Bobcats owner Bob Johnson. These two definitely have plenty to smile about...
Next we ran into BET's dynamic duo Terrence J and Rocsi from BET's "106 & Park", who hosted the event. These two really have great chemistry together. We hung out with Terrence for most of the night and he's definitely a chill dude... and he knows how to get the party poppin' too! I almost dropped my camera dancin' on the couches! LOL
Then we caught a quick flick with the alright looking Aleesha Reneè, host of BET's "The 5ive". Don't feel bad, Aleesha. Everyone is "alright looking" standing next to Erika...
As everyone began to take their seats, I caught actress Gabrielle Union in the cut.
Gabby looked like she was having herself a grand ole' time. Her friend - not so much.
Is that R&B singer Jaheim posing for a pic with Kevin Liles? Where the hell you been, Ja? Your fans miss you! All six of them... LOL. Jokes! Can't wait to hear some new material...
Some of the Hot 97 family were in the house. Here's "The Voice of New York" Angie Martinez (what a sweetheart!) with DJ Enuff in deep thought...
Terrence Howard wasted no time getting his grub on. Little did he know that his night would soon be filled with the abrupt sound of loud clucking...
...coming from this groupie chickenhead that perched next to him and literally BEGGED all night for this flick. Terrence seemed eager to get it over with, hoping to shut her up no doubt.
Meanwhile, Erika chopped it up with Nicole from "The Wendy Williams' Experience". When I asked Nicole if she would ask Wendy to give Erika a job, she replied: "Shiiiiit... I'm still tryin' to get her to give me a job!". I'm sure you'll get a solid spot soon. Just keep hustlin' babygirl!
Bling Blaow! Literally. Red Cafè came through with the heavy bling on...
BREAKING NEWS!!! Zab Juda spotted standing up! Just kidding, Zab. We don't want no problems!
We spotted new R&B sensation Brandon Hines (right) in the crowd. (Wait a minute... let me see some i.d. buddy!) You can hear some of his music at www.myspace.com/bhineslovemusic. Look out for him real soon...
And just as we started to get our drink on, guess who decides to walk in, bodyguard in tow, like he owns the damn place...
Dappin' everybody up like he's that dude...
Well, I guess he kinda is.. LOL.
R&B singer Ray L (far right) warmed the stage up performing his one semi-hit, "My Girl Gotta Girlfriend", with a little help from Red Cafè (center) and some other randomoe.
You just knew this dude wasn't gonna let the night go by without getting some type of shine. If he did, he just wouldn't be Diddy. The Bad Boy himself hit the stage to introduce the man of the hour -
The self-proclaimed "Prince of VA" - Trey Songz.
Trey put on a great show. It definitely felt like "Trey Day" up in there! Honestly, I wasn't planning on copping the new album. But after a performance like that, I might cop the bootleg. Jokes!
Trey's new album,"Trey Day", is in stores now.
