Ike Turner Dies At 76

Ike Turner, whose role as one of rock's critical architects was overshadowed by his ogrelike image as the man who brutally abused former wife Tina Turner, died Wednesday at his home in suburban San Diego. He was 76.

There was no immediate word on the cause of death at the time this was reported.

On behalf of all of us here in Tingy's World, condolences to the entire Turner family, friends and fans. May he rest in peace.

Hot For 2008 - Ato Matsumuto Sneakers

I've been a "sneakerhead" for the majority of my life. I love sneakers. I love shoes. Upon meeting someone for the first time, I always check their shoes within the first ten seconds... lol. You can tell a lot about a person by what they have on their feet - or at least in my world you can.

Lately, it seems like the sneaker game is getting pretty crowded, especially with all the retro kicks that are on the market now. It's time for something new, and Ato Matsumoto gives us just that with his exclusive footwear collection. Ato Matsumoto's take on a sneaker has produced a stunning, functional and beautifully styled piece of footwear that has yet to make it out of Japan until now. oki-ni.com has an exclusive distribution deal on the Ato Cow Hide Boot, recently spotted on the feet of Hip Hop superstar Kanye West. This high top is currently in demand and features two velcro straps and comes in a mix of patent leather and regular premium leather. Not due to be released in europe or the states until January next year, oki-ni has secured the deal to bring these to you first:

When Your Stylist Attacks...

Here at Tingysworld, we like to consider ourselves a trendy, fashion forward bunch of people who love to try new things and experiment with new looks. But sometimes, people just go too damn far. Case in point: Omarion. Our guess is that you're really stressed out on this promotional tour, and just may not have the time to LOOK at your wardrobe. What the hell were you thinking when you got dressed the day you wore this nonsense? And who is your stylist? Do you even have one? If you do, find the nearest bus and throw him or her underneath it - IMMEDIATELY.

Ridiculous. And we didn't even mention the hair...

Rapper Pimp C Found Dead

Texas rapper Chad "Pimp C" Butler, a member of the chart-topping duo UGK (Underground Kingz), died in a Los Angeles hotel room on Tuesday, officials said. He was 33. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said detectives were investigating the death of a "male black adult" at the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood. The Web site TMZ.com, which broke the news, quoted an official with the Coroner's department as saying that Butler appeared to have died of natural causes. An autopsy will be performed, the official added.

UGK's Jive Records label issued a statement mourning "the unexpected loss" of the rapper, who was on the brink of major stardom.

"He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing southern rap to the forefront," Jive president and CEO Barry Weiss said.

UGK, in which Butler performed with Bernard "Bun B" Freeman, topped the U.S. pop album charts in August with "Underground Kingz," its first entry on the survey in five years. Pimp C spent much of that time in prison, serving nearly four years for aggravated assault. He was paroled in 2005.

Butler's manager, Rick Martin, who identified the body, said his client had mended his ways after his prison stretch, and was "set to soar" with multiple new business plans, including a solo recording deal, a satellite radio show, and a national endorsement deal for a brand of cologne. Butler, who was born in Port Arthur, Texas, formed UGK with Freeman when they were in high school. They signed with Jive in 1992 and released eight albums for the label. Butler is survived by his wife, Chinara, and three children.

Condolences to the entire Butler family and all of the friends and fans of Pimp C and UGK. May he rest in peace.
