Looks like our boy Clifford Harris, Jr., better known as rapper T.I., was finally released from federal custody on $3 million bond Friday, October 26th. Two third of the funds were paid by Harris and Atlantic Records, with the remainder secured by his house in Jonesboro, GA. Though unfortunately, it doesn't end there. U.S. Magistrate Alan Baverman ordered that T.I. must remain confined to his home, awaiting trial on weapons charges. The exceptions to this order are extremely limited, including medical appointments and court appearances. Harris cannot own any firearms, have contact with witnesses or informants in the case or even consume alcohol. To enforce these rules, he will be under 24 hour surveillance by Judicial Corrections Services Inc., a company run by former U.S. Marshal and Fulton County Sheriff Robert McMichael, and his movements will be monitored by a GPS tracking system. Additionally, visitors are restricted to just three at a time between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. only, and must first be cleared with a criminal background check. Now that seems a bit excessive. I guess such is the consequence for not just talking it, but REALLY living it. Maybe he let that American Gangster role go to his head! Anyway, we'll keep you posted...

The spirit of one of our most beloved hip hop personas was reincarnated today when the wax figure of the Notorious B.I.G. debuted at Madame Tussauds New York. The mother of the late Christopher Wallace, Ms. Voletta Wallace, was on hand to unveil the life-sized wax figure as press, fans and friends looked on. The Brooklyn High School of Arts choir provided the soundtrack for this monumental event, performing renditions of the dedication hit "I'll Be Missing You" and gospel classic "I'll Fly Away". The exibit will have its own room on the ninth floor of Madame Tussauds, where fans will be able to pose and take pictures with the figure of the late mc.

Our only question is - why? Why Memphis? Why make another album? Jay-Z already said as long as he's alive you're a millionaire. So why bother?
And who ok'd this video? Looks extremely low budget to me. This is another sad case of not knowing when to quit. You were lukewarm (AT BEST) ten years ago, so we hope you don't think this nonsense is going to catapult you to the top of the charts...

It seems like our boy T.I. can't stay out of the spotlight nowadays. We got a peek at the November issue of Complex Magazine (one of our favorites) and none other than the recently incarcerated "King of the South" himself is gracing the cover. Inside he gives a candid interview discussing everything from his role in the movie American Gangster to his altercation with Ludacris' manager Chaka Zulu. Complex does a great job with every issue, and I'm sure this one will not disappoint.
Maybe T.I. could even use some of the pics inside as wallpaper for his cell...

Harlem on the rise!!! Well, at least it was on Friday night when a plethora of stars came out to the premiere of the highly anticipated film, American Gangster. As we reported last week, the event took place at the world famous Apollo Theater, located in the heart of Harlem on 125th Street. They had spotlights, a red carpet and a huge screen set up right outside so the people who couldn't afford the hefty price for a ticket ($1000 per person, and that was for seats way in the back) could watch all the action going on inside. Shout out to everyone who put this night together. The event was pulled off without a hitch, and we need positive happenings like these in our neighborhoods.
Ok.. enough of that - we know you want the pics...
Denzel Washington and wife Pauletta
Ruby Dee, who plays Frank Lucas' (Denzel Washington) mom in the movie, showed up with her family. Good to see her out and about...
Cuba Gooding, Jr.
We're hearing great things about Common's performance in the movie...
As for Rza, not so much. And who is this project chick with the bad weave?
You know Hov was there -
And Diddy
American Gangster releases nationwide on November 2nd. Better go get on line now...

Def Jam recording artist Ne-Yo celebrated his 30th birthday Wednesday night in NYC at the Tribeca Rooftop. Word on the street is that this was the HOTTEST party of the year so far! And we figured it would be... with all the people that Ne-Yo has worked with over the past couple of years. Everybody was in the building last night - Jay-Z, JD and Janet, Rihanna, and about a dozen naked girls covered with fruit laying on the bar... CRAZY!!! So crazy in fact that we couldn't even get upstairs! We did manage to get one pic, though:
Unfortunately, this is as close as we got to getting inside. The messed up thing about it is that we were on the RSVP and the press list! We were outside long enough to see Ne-Yo, Chingy (How did he get an invite?) and Hov get escorted in. After that, it was literally a ZOO outside! The whole crowd charged the door. Needless to say we were done for the night after that. Don't fret, however. Our friends over at alltheparties.com got there early (guess we should have too... lol) and got some great pics. Here go a few:
Ne-Yo and L.A. Reid
LL Cool J
Rihanna
Is that you, Beanie Siegal? Lookin' like an old janitor...
Jay-Z

Didn't I say The-Dream was a junior R. Kelly in the making (lyrically at least)? Well it looks like Mr. Kelly himself has also taken notice. The two recently collaborated on The-Dream's remix to Shawty is a 10. I'm kind of feeling it... My partner though, not so much. Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Well everyone, you can call him what you want or even question his sexuality, but the man is raking in the dough - BIG time. Tyler Perry's new movie, Why Did I Get Married, co-starring Janet Jackson & Jill Scott, is a number one box office smash! The film grossed a little over $21 million in its opening weekend. Even the box office analysts hadn't predicted that much! Though by now, such ratings are the norm for Perry. His original box office hit back in 2005, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, raked in $21.9 million, and officially put Perry on the map. Following shortly thereafter in 2006 was an even bigger hit, Madea's Family Reunion, tallying a whopping $30 million at the box office. Earlier this year he released Tyler Perry's Daddy Little Girls, which brought in a mere $11.2 million (bummer). Coincidentally, it was also the first one of his films the actor hadn't appeared in. I guess he really does sell himself! Tyler Perry is also a writer, director, actor and executive producer for the hit TBS comedy, Tyler Perry's House of Payne. Damn Tyler, you might just be the hardest working man in show business. Go girl! I mean, boy... lol.

The 2007 BET Hip Hop Awards went down on Saturday, and we got our hands on some pics of several of the attendees. Seems like the ladies in the game are doing a much better job finding stylists, because most of the dudes look HORRIBLE! LOL. Anyways, enjoy!
Sometimes less is more, actress Lauren London shows us how it's done...
Melyssa Ford works her assets...
Alesha Reneè always looks nice...
MC Lyte has been looking better than ever as of late...
Inside, 'Ye burned up the stage...
As did Weezy...
Swizz Beats was in the crowd -
So was Nelly and his boo Ashanti...
Keyshia Cole
This is what happens when you think you don't need a stylist -
Big Boi. You almost pulled this ensemble off. Too bad you put those boots on.
Apparently Lil' Mama's parents are still dressing her...
Mario succeeds again with looking like a lame.
Chingy must have stole this blazer out of his grandfather's closet. Hey buddy, are those Hush Puppies on your feet?
Tocarra seems to think that showing her cleavage makes this outfit work. Unfortunately, it doesn't.
It's obvious that Chamillionaire has no clue about fashion (exactly what we'd expect from a dude who calls himself Chamillionaire)
Despite all the drama going on with T.I., security still must have been real laxed, because we don't know how Mims got in -
Maybe he snuck in with Mike Jones...
You can catch all the action from the 2007 Hip Hop Awards this Wednesday, October 17th @ 8 PM, only on BET.

Seems like the drama just doesn't stop for Clifford Harris, better known to the world as hip hop star T.I. On Saturday, the self-proclaimed "King of the South" was arrested just hours before he was due to perform at the 2007 BET Hip Hop Awards, which took place this past weekend at the Civic Center in Atlanta, GA. The charges against T.I. include possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers, as well as possession of firearms by a convicted felon. According to NBC4.com, the arrest resulted from an investigation that began earlier this month. A federal firearms dealer told the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that a man was inquiring about buying a machine gun without registering the weapon as required, according to a criminal complaint filed Saturday in the U.S. District Court in Atlanta.
After trying to buy several machine guns from an undercover ATF agent, the unnamed person began cooperating with the government and said he was buying the machine guns and silencers for Harris, the complaint said. The bodyguard said that he had bought about nine firearms for Harris, and that the rapper had given him cash to buy guns four times, the complaint said. Harris brokered the deals through the bodyguard because the rapper is a convicted felon, the complaint alleged. It is against federal law for a convicted felon to have another person get firearms on their behalf.
The 27-year-old rapper arranged to meet with the bodyguard Saturday to exchange cash for weapons, the complaint said. After his arrest in a shopping center parking lot not far from the awards show, agents found three firearms in the vehicle he was driving, including a loaded firearm between the driver's seat and center console, according to the complaint.
As the awards were being taped in Atlanta on Saturday night, federal authorities were still searching T.I.'s home in East Point, about 15 miles southwest of the city. Once inside, agents reportedly found six guns in a closet, including three allegedly bought by the bodyguard for the rapper last month, according to the complaint. Five were loaded, agents said.
Despite all the commotion, T.I. did manage to make it to the awards ceremony, although he did not take the stage to perform.
The time has finally come! Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment present the world premiere of the highly anticipated film, American Gangster. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The exclusive sneak peak, sponsored by Volkswagon, will take place at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem next Friday, October 19th. Leading cast member, and Mount Vernon native, Denzel Washington, joined the local Boys & Girls Club when he was just six years old, and remained a member for the next twelve years. He has now been serving as a national spokesperson for the club for the past fifteen years. "The Boys & Girls Club exerted a profound influence on me and so many of my peers growing up, and I consider it an honor to give back, " Washington stated. "I spent more than a decade as a member of the Club in Mount Vernon, and I'm extremely pleased the production is willing to make American Gangster's premiere a benefit for an organization that plays such an important, positive role in the lives of young people today." You have to admire his humility. No wonder all the girls go ga-ga over Denzel! Another Boys & Girls Club alumnus, Cuba Gooding, Jr., also stars in the movie. Cuba belonged to the Boys & Girls Club of Tustin, California. Do you see a pattern here? I want every baby mama to enroll their sons today! LMAO!
The film will be released in theaters nationwide on Friday, November 2nd, 2007. If you're interested in purchasing tickets for the premiere, leave a comment or shoot us an email.

Well people, in case you didn't know, racism is unfortunately still alive and well. Yesterday morning, a hangman's noose was found hanging on the door of an african-american professor's classroom at New York City's Columbia University Teacher's College (a noose was used years ago for black lynchings.) According to the New York Times, an investigation by the NYPD's hate-crime unit is now in full swing. The professor, 44 year-old Dr. Madonna Constantine is still infuriated by the act of hate - and rightfully so. A rally was held today outside of the college where she stated:
“I want to let the perpetrator know that I will not be silenced.” I’m upset that our community was exposed to such an unbelievably blatant act of racism. Hanging a noose from my door reeks of cowardice on many, many levels.”
I'm at a lost for words right now...

According to the Daily News' Rush and Molloy section, Diddy is now stepping up and taking responsibility for his fifth child (although if you count Kim Porter's son by R&B singer Al B. Sure, Quincy, that makes it six for Daddy Diddy). Until recently he'd been denying that he was the father of the now fifteen-month old babygirl, Chance. Apparently he wanted to know the results of the paternity tests before he confessed to anything (gold star for you, Puff).
"At first, I wasn't sure if this was my child," he told the Daily News. "Now that it has become clear she is, I will take care of her for the rest of her life."
Way to step up there, Diddy. And we're sure your third baby mama, 34 year-old Atlanta resident Sarah Chapman, is ecstatic about the news. And why wouldn't she be? Go ahead, kick your feet up. No more late nights working at the Waffle House for you, my dear. Time to live it up!
